1. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing : Basics - This course will build on the fundamentals of Engineering drawing, basics of tolerances to develop a firm understanding of the concepts of GD&T . Why GD&T is needed? and explanation of concepts like Rule 1, Bonus tolerances, Virtual condition , Datum shift . All the symbols of Form, Orientation , Position, Runout and Profile will be explained along with how they are inspected in practice with examples.
2. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing : Advanced - This courses builds over the Basics course and deals with more advanced concepts in GD&T like tolerancing of patterns, slots , Datum targets, Concept of Zero MMC, Projected tolerance zones, Simultaneous requirements and Composite Position and profile tolerancing.
3. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing : Application- Functional tolerancing with Case studies . This course builds on the Basics and Advanced concepts and takes you through the application of the concepts to a component based on its function and design intent. How the tolerancing scheme is decided and GD&T drawing is made.
4. Basics of Tolerances and Stackup - This course will deal with the basics of tolerances, Limits and Fits. Then going in deep towards how a Tolerance stackup analysis of a mechanical assembly is conducted with multiple examples. Dealing with assemblies in which GD&T is applied requires a more advanced approach which will be dealt with in detail with multiple inter-part and intra-part examples.
All three of these courses are essential for any Mechanical design engineer designing mechanical systems to effectively design systems.
